Students will carry their own snacks, lunches, and water on all of the ski trips. Knowing that we will expend a lot of energy, students should be prepared with nutritious choices and a minimum amount of packaging. During our training days we emphasize the importance of eating foods with high energy content and staying well hydrated.
On the hut trip, we have the use of a fully stocked kitchen and are able to pull sleds containing our food. This allows for some fresh food on the trip. High caloric intake and good nutrition are emphasized when creating a menu for this trip. Students participate in all stages of meal preparation and kitchen clean up.
We realize that some students may have special dietary requirements. We are used to dealing with allergies and food restrictions. If you are a parent, please communicate these needs as soon as you know which hut trip your child will be on.
